Melissa Hawkes is a British author who, at the age of eight, found herself in foster care. It was at this age that she explored creative writing, at first through songwriting, before she fell utterly in love with books. When Melissa isn’t writing, she’s working as a full-time marketing lead, running The Writers Hub and reading all things fantasy and adventure.
The idea for Indie WriterFest came from Melissa's desire to give back to writers whilst supporting self-published and indie authors. In everything she does, she focusses heavily on creating community which is why she decided to bring together authors from across the globe to offer advice, tips, tricks and support to writers.
