1. HOW CAN I JOIN THE EVENTS?
One change that has happened for Indie WriterFest 2022 is the way you join each event. Last year, you would sign up to each individual event and we would send you a join link for each Zoom event 30 - 60 minutes before the event starts. This year, after you've claimed an Indie WriterFest ticket, you'll be sent one email that includes all Indie WriterFest events and join links beforehand, meaning you won't have to wait for us to send you the link to join the event. Please note, all email communication for Indie WriterFest will be coming from Melissa Hawkes.
When you'd like to join an event, you will be prompted by Zoom to enter your name and email. This is because many authors like to host giveaways for those who joined their event and it helps us track what kind of events gather more interest than others. We use Zoom Webinar to host Indie WriterFest, meaning you won't be able to turn on your camera or microphone but you will have access to cool features such as a chat box and Q&A box.
2. HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
This year we've introduced two ticket types. General Admission is a free ticket and gives you access to sign up to all Indie WriterFest 2022 events. VIP Admission is a paid ticket that costs £25 + shipping costs to your country and include all the perks in the General Admission ticket as well as access to The Writers Hub free for one month and a goody bag sent to your home address. 3. WILL THE EVENTS BE RECORDED?
Yes, all Indie WriterFest 2022 events will be recorded and shared to the Indie WriterFest YouTube channel after the festival has ended. Feel free to subscribe!
4. WHAT MEASURES ARE YOU TAKING TO CATER FOR PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY?
All Indie WriterFest events will have live transcription enabled, meaning there will be captions present on the screen as the author is hosting their event. We will also have copies of this transcription in document form. If you would like to request this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Whilst we do try to be as accessible as possible, if you feel there's more we could do to make this event comfortable please do email email@example.com.
5. HOW CAN I, AN INDIE AUTHOR, GET INVOLVED?
If you'd like to be considered for a future Indie WriterFest you can reach out to me by filling out the contact form on Melissa's website - www.melissahawkes.com. We are selective of individuals and brands we partner with, so please bear this in mind when reaching out. Make sure you include links to your books and any information you can provide to strengthen your argument would be useful.
